Build Better Websites & Funnels

In my previous blog, we learned what is Digital Marketing and I said that in my next blog we will learn how to grow our business using Facebook? If you haven't read my previous blog yet, you can find it here . But I realized that in the middle of our journey towards learning how to grow our business using Facebook, we will find that we must have a website of our own. In order to promote our business and its products and services on Facebook through sponsored ads, we need to have a Facebook Business page. The Facebook Business page will ask us to provide the URL of our website and its privacy policy. We will feel getting stuck if we do not own a website of our own. So, instead of creating a Facebook Business Page, we will have to first find something to create our website and then host it. Before moving ahead let us once again try to understand that why should we consider using internet solutions for our business. I n this day and age, any business that wants to thrive must go onlin

About Social Media Marketing

 What the heck?

Hi, I am Manoj Sonowal. I am a blogger and a Social Media Manager by passion and a full-time project manager (PMP®) by profession.

I have decided to write this blog to bring awareness to business owners, solopreneurs, and entrepreneurs about Social Media Marketing.

In this blog we will walk-through:

  • What is Social Media Marketing?
  • Why is there so much buzz about it?
  • Who can be benefitted from it?
  • How will you do it?

What is Social Media Marketing?
Most of us are using apps like Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, Linkedin, etc to connect to our near and dear ones or to make new friends and professional contacts.

While using these apps we often see some ads popping out on our mobile screens as newsfeeds, stories, the marketplace, or in-stream videos showing some designer clothes, shoes, professional courses, etc. These are the ads that the advertisers run on these social media platforms to get leads for themselves or their client's business or create brand awareness.

Using these social media platforms to promote one's brand, service, or products through paid advertising is referred to as Social Media Marketing.

Why is there so much buzz about it?
Because everybody is doing it?
No, definitely not.
Because it is proven.

Technology has evolved. Digital platforms have gained heights and bypassed traditional hoardings, newspaper ads, marketing leaflets, and tv commercials.

It is an era of digital platforms. Everything and every action have been brought to our fingertips.

Purchases online are done with just the gesture of two fingers. Think of Amazon. We do most of our daily shopping online just using an app without the need to go to the physical store.

There is how and why online marketing comes to the scene.

Consumers nowadays prefer hassle-free shopping and at the same time enjoy window shopping with the swipe away images of their fancied products.

This behavior and expectation of consumers have become a boon for the marketers who can showcase their products or services to their consumers online on their handy mobile phones or desktops they are using to get their peaceful and sweet space of time to connect to their near and dear ones.

Mobile phones are now with everyone's hand and everybody spends around one and half hours on an average on social media platforms.

Amongst all the social media platforms Facebook has been so far the most preferred apps for almost all of us. However, we will also look at the other apps on the upcoming blogs but the focus will be more on Facebook as it has the highest user base than any other apps at present.

The very next blog will be on 'How to grow your business using Facebook?.'

But for now, we will not act biased and will try to understand the 'Why the buzz about Social Media Marketing?'

The USPs of Social Media Marketing are:
  • It is convenient.
  • It is cheap.
  • It can be optimized during the ad runtime.
  • It has a very wider reach.
  • It is more efficient than conventional advertisements.
  • It is aligned to the changing technology.
  • It gives more control to the advertisers in terms of budget, campaign, audience and platform where the ad is to be shown.
Who can be benefitted from it?
The million-dollar question.

If Nike, PUMA, AMAZON are only your thoughts, then consider yourself to be their competitors. Yes, when it comes to online marketing we all have a level playing ground when it is all about marketing.

Yes, even, me, you and anyone, who has got a business can leverage the business platform of these social media apps.

If you are a solopreneur and own a bakery, do not worry.

If you are a mother of two-three kids running an apple-pie business, do not worry.

If you are a fitness guru and own a fitness center, do not worry.

If you are an online coaching guru, do not worry.

The list will simply go and on and on and we do not have to worry at all, because we will be speaking our hearts out.

How will you do it?
You will get enough resources available in the public domain on the internet about launching your business online, getting leads, and converting your leads to sales.

However, a more efficient way is to hire someone who is an expert or extensively trained in running social media ad campaigns for clients. There are many freelancers available with expertise in this particular domain online.

So, stay tuned for my next blog post to learn more about 'How to grow your business using Facebook?'
